Welcome!

Summer is here! Click here for tips to keep your ratties safe and cool!

Thanks for visiting! My name is Meghan, and this is my rattery! I had rats most of my teenage years. I got my first rat in about 1998. She was an albino from the feeder bin. I named her Piper. Not long after that I got in touch with a local rattery and adopted my first two pedigreed rats. Over the years I adopted many rats from that breeder. Unfortunately I had a few "ratless" years - I was living overseas and moving around constantly. But when I moved back to NJ permanently, one of the first things I wanted to do was start my breeding program!

It's been a lot of work, but I am very happy with the rats I've managed to acquire and with my own breedings so far! I am very happy to be able to offer most colors and varieties, several of which are otherwise not available in this part of the country.

I am always happy to chat about rats so if you have any questions feel free to drop me a line!

PHR is located in Blairstown, NJ. My goal is to produce rats with great temperaments, health, color, and type. My rats are raised in the home with lots of love and attention. You can view my rats here. As you can see, I have rats of many different colors. I have both dumbo and standard eared rats, and am working to ensure that all of my rats are dumbos or dumbo carriers so I can offer both ear types in most litters. I am working on several coat types - standard coat, rex, velveteen, and now harley! I also hope to start producing some dwarf rats in late 2008. I have most colors, including black, agouti, blue, russian blue, and mink as well as their dilutes; siamese, burmese, and black-eyed siamese. I have a diverse breeding program - I love ALL colors and it's impossible to pick just one or two!

I am NARR (North American Rat Registry) registered as Paper Heart Rattery and my rats will all carry the prefix PH. I am happy to provide lifelong support for anyone that adopts a rat from me - and will ALWAYS take rats back, no questions asked, if the owner is no longer able to keep them.

Do you have a PH rat?

I am putting together a bulletin board so those who visit the rattery can see photos of rats I've produced. If you've adopted rats from me, I'd love it if you could send some photos so I can post them and fill up the board!

And if anyone has an extra minute, take the time to sign my guestbook
