In the past, I tried to breed Violet to Bailey 3 times, but the breeding was never successful. Violet is a gorgeous girl, and is a huge improvement on the harley line of rats. I decided to try her one last time with Jolt, a harley carrier male.

The female that I decided to keep appeared to have harley whiskers - they were wavy, and when her coat came in it was longer than normal and had a very shiny appearance. I thought that she was a harly, but then remembered that I'd been told some harley carriers show these traits. As time passed it became obvious she was not a true harley but she still mainained the wave to her whiskers and a slightly longer coat, so I am fairly sure she is a harley carrier.

Developmentally, this litter was about two days older than they appeared to be, although they were basically born on time. Their eyes opened at 12 days and I could clearly see markings at birth!
